Escherichia coli bacteria live naturally in the digestive tract of humans and animals, one of the beneficial bacteria as it prevents harmful bacteria from settling within the digestive system. But there are several strains of this bacteria can cause diseases to humans, including E.coli o157: H7, which was first discovered in 1982 in the poisoning incident caused by hamburgers.
